Sheila Keckler Butt was born in Rockford,
Illinois. She is a Graduate of East Tennessee State University,
Johnson City, TN, with a B.S. Degree in English and History.
Sheila is also a Graduate of the Bear Valley School of Biblical
Studies, Women’s Program, 1980, and has done Graduate work in
Greek and Hermeneutics at David Lipscomb University, 1994.
She has taught Bible classes for the past
30 years for young children and women of all ages. She has
spoken on the Caribbean Lectureship for five years and has
taught young ladies at the Horizons Program at Freed- Hardeman
University for the past fifteen years. Sheila has traveled
abroad teaching ladies in Panama, Honduras, Alaska and the
Caribbean, .and was privileged to teach in the summer of 2003 at
the First Annual Christian Women’s Conference in Cuba.
Sheila’s first book
“No Greater Joy” has been widely
read and is often used in Ladies Bible Classes and as gifts for
expectant parents. The book is about raising children who will
love the Lord. The last chapter of the book is dedicated to the
husband/wife relationship in Christ.
Her second book,
“Seeking Spiritual Beauty”, was introduced in
February, 2002. This book is an encouragement and source of
strength for women who are not satisfied with the world’s
standard of beauty and who are truly seeking to please the
Master. There is also a 12 week video series entitled
“Seeking Spiritual Beauty” by
Sheila available for Ladies’ Bible classes and women’s studies.
Sheila has written a book for children
entitled “Does God Love Michael’s Two
Daddies?” While affirming God’s love for every
person, this beautifully written and illustrated book teaches
the Biblical truth of marriage between one man and one woman as
instituted by God. The book is dedicated to parents who are
truly trying to teach their children the eternal truth of God’s
Word and how to live in this world in view of eternity.
Sheila’s newest book, “Everyday
Princess: Daughter of The King” is written for young
ladies who truly want to become women after God’s own heart. It
covers such topics as: Glorifying God in My Body;
Glorifying God in My Relationships; I Don’t Want to Kiss Dating
Goodbye; Glorifying God in My Recreation, etc. The
book is scheduled to be released in October of 2008.
Stan and Sheila have three sons who are
married and who are currently Gospel preachers. Stan is the
Executive Director of the TWHBEA and preaches for the Anderson
Bend congregation in Hickman County, TN.
